Angela Evelyn Bassett was born in the US. Her work has been recognized for TV and film from the mid-80s onwards, she's been awarded numerous awards like two Golden Globe Awards and sixteen NAACP Image Awards in addition to nominations for two Academy Awards and seven Primetime Emmy Awards. Bassett is a native of Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She was brought up in Winston-Salem North Carolina by her aunt, who was born to New York New York, is well-known as an actor. Bassett relocated with her twin sister in St. Petersburg Florida at five years old so that they could be near their mom as she was divorced from their dad. Bassett watched the James Earl Jones in John Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men play when she was in high school, and realised that it was acting she was looking to pursue. In 1980, Bassett graduated from Yale University New Haven Connecticut with an undergraduate degree in African American studies. She earned a diploma from the Yale School of Drama. She was introduced to Courtney B. Vance, another actress from Yale and they married in 1997. Qualification: B.A. Degree in African-American Studies in the year 1980. Master of Fine Arts from Yale School of Drama School. Jordan Park Elementary School Disston Middle School (7th grade), Azalea Middle School (8th and 9th grade), Boca Ciega High School. Angela Bassett has been cast as one of the main roles of Ramonda in the action-adventure film, i.e. Black Panther: Wakanda forever (2022).
